How to remove Kubernetes / Helm support from a Visual Studio Project

So you took a look at some of the new features in Visual Studio 2019 and thought it would be a good idea to see how the new Kubernetes/Helm orchestrator support worked.  Now you’ve realized that you don’t want to work with it the way Visual Studio wants you to or you decided it’s not for you?

How do I get rid of it?

figure1As it turns out it is not that difficult to remove the support from your project. First off we will have to remove a folder the charts folder and we will also have to remove the azds.yaml file as seen in the first image. This removes all the files that are added to the project but there is still a configuration setting located in the launchSettings.json file for launching our project using Azure Dev Spaces.  figure2

For most configurations this may not give any issue in other configurations Visual Studio may display a message box about Azure Dev Spaces being configured and not have the ability to locate the azds.yaml file. Once all of these steps are completed the configuration for Kubernetes/Helm orchestration will be removed from your project.

I hope this helps anyone who was having difficulty with this issue.
